DeLoy R Anderson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, passed away, Sunday, December 6, 2020 at his home in Wellington, Utah.

He was born the 18th of July, 1930 in Price, Utah to Ralph Peter and Effie Branch Anderson. DeLoy grew up in Price. He attended school in Price, quit in the 10th grade and joined the Navy.

He married Betty Lou Earney the 16th of July, 1951 in Hiawatha, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple in 1953.

DeLoy served in the US Navy before and during the Korean War. While in the Navy he took the GED test for his high school diploma and later attended Carbon College on a GI Bill.

He and Betty had a home built in Price, but lack of work caused him to move his family to Long Beach, California where they resided and raised their family. DeLoy worked for the city of Long Beach. They stayed in Long Beach for 17.5 years.

They returned home to Utah in 1973 and built their home in Wellington. DeLoy went to work at Wattis, Utah for Cypress Plateau Mine. In 1983, He took a locksmith course by correspondence and started his little business DeLoy’s Key and Lock. DeLoy was not afraid of hard work and was happiest when his mind and hands were busy.

He was a lifelong active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in Scouting for 70 years. He also served with the Young Men’s Organization in the Church. He LOVED serving others.

DeLoy is survived by his wife, Betty and their four daughters, Carolyn (Barney) Zauss of Wellington; Terry (Gene) Wood of Price; JoAnne (Lomio) Latu of Wellington; and Sherry (Kent) Bean of Wellington; sister, Velora Anderson of Eagle Mountain. DeLoy was a proud grandfather of nine, great-grandfather of 28 and great-great-grandfather of one.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Frank Liddell; three brothers, Clifford, Merlynn, and Richard; two sisters, Arlene Conger and Carol Munson; grandsons, Benjamin Arnold Bean and James Robert Wood.

A public viewing in lieu of a funeral will be Friday, December 11, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home where everyone is welcome to attend. Burial will be in the Wellington City Cemetery.
