The Carbon Lady Dinos moved to 4-0 on the season with a one-sided 54-8 victory over the North Sanpete Hawks Tuesday night at home.

Playing at Carbon High School for the first time this season, the Lady Dinos delivered a defensive clinic, allowing no more than four points in any individual quarter. Holding a 10-2 lead at the end of the first quarter, Carbon shutout North Sanpete in the second, extending their lead to 27-2 at the break.

The defensive showcase continued for Carbon in the second half as they outscored the Hawks 27-6 in the final two quarters. The win for the Lady Dinos comes following a 3-0 mark at the Shanon Johnson Tournament in Uintah this past weekend.

Senior Makenna Blanc ended with 10 points, seven rebounds and five steals to lead Carbon in the blowout win. Sydney Orth found similar success also scoring 10 points, while grabbing six rebounds and four steals.

Janzie Jensen continued to run the floor nicely for Carbon as she scored nine points and handed out five assists. Madi Orth flirted with a triple-double by ending with nine points, eight rebounds and seven steals.

Tuesday’s win is the first of five straight home games for the Lady Dinos, a stretch that will continue Friday night at the BDAC on the campus of USU Eastern against Desert Hills. Start time for that game is scheduled for 7:00.
