The Carbon High Christmas is being conducted a bit differently this year but community members are still invited to be a part of this great cause.

“So, unfortunately, COVID is going around which everybody knows. So instead of helping the community as a whole like we normally want to do, we are just going to be helping people in our school,” said Student Body Officer, Allie Robertson. Generally, the school helps several families throughout the community during the holiday season but this year that focus will be on helping their own.

The school will be hosting several fun events at the school to help raise funds for their Carbon Christmas program. “It’s kind of like our homecoming week. We just have dress-up days, so we have Christmas themed activities. We have a Christmas fun sock day, we have a snow day, just to get the students involved and just to bring a little bit of Christmas spirit before we go off for break. Then we’re just going to have a few lunchtime activities – gingerbread house competition, we’re going to give students hot cocoa one day, just stuff like that to lift their spirit,” said Student Body Officer, Ty Johnson. These activities are available for all students who wish to participate.

Community members that support the Carbon Christmas program every year are still able to make a donation this year. “People will still be able to donate because we know a lot of people set aside money and so you can either come into the office and pay a check or you can mail a check to the high school,” explained Robertson. All proceeds will go towards helping a fellow student who is in need.
