One day after defeating the Carbon Dinos 54-6 in the season opening meet, the Emery Spartans traveled to Juab for one-day tournament Saturday afternoon.

Competing against 12 teams from throughout the state at all levels of competition, the Spartans were positioned with Viewmont, Box Elder and West Lake. Participating in five matches throughout the day, the Spartans fared very well against elite opponents.

Competing at 126-pounds Byron Christiansen finished with an unbeaten record at 5-0. Bryar Meccariello also ended undefeated at 5-0 at 152-pounds.

Both Hayes Dalton and Jarin Allen competed at a high level as they finished 4-1 throughout the day.

The Spartans will now prepare for a heavy schedule throughout the week leading up to the Christmas Break. Tuesday the team will host its first home match of the season as they welcome in South Sevier.

Friday the team will travel to Millard for the Iron Man Duel, before ending the week Saturday in Farmington at the Christmas Clash.
