The Emery Spartans were once again dominant on the wrestling mat as they earned a 54-18 win over the South Sevier Rams in Monroe on Tuesday night.

Competing for the first of three times this week, the Spartans won 10 of the 14 varsity matches. Battling without a few of the team’s top performers, the all around performance was enough for Emery to earn a dominating victory.

Byron Christiansen continued to roll through varsity competition as he remained undefeated on the season with a win by pin. Returning state champion Hayes Dalton also climbed a weight class and still managed to come away with a win.

The busy week for the Spartans will continue when they return to the mat on Friday night with a trip to Millard for the Iron Man Duel. The weekend will continue as the team travels to Farmington on Saturday for the Christmas Clash.
