Zelpha Ranae Rich Eastman (Ranae), age 85, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2020 at her home in Sagle, Idaho.

Ranae was born June 20, 1935 in Wellington, Utah to Orval and Zelpha Allred Rich.  She married her loving husband Richard (Dick) Howard Eastman on July 7, 1957 in Wellington, Utah. Throughout their life together they lived in Utah, Idaho and Washington state.  They retired to Sagle, Idaho where they remained for 15 years.

Ranae is survived by Dick and their five children, Sherrie Newman, Dorothy Strakele, Rich Eastman, Jill DeGier and Scott Eastman. They were greatly blessed with eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her only sibling, sister, Connie Lucille Oliver of Spring Glen, Utah.

Ranae was a loving and compassionate wife and mother, beloved by her entire family and many friends.  She had a great sense of humor and was quick to laugh and was always gentle and uplifting to those around her. She was blessed with a beautiful songbird gift of singing and an amazing talent to yodel like a professional.  She enjoyed writing poems and was extremely artistic in drawing as well as crafts; she appreciated the beauty of plants and flowers and loved dogs her whole life.

Ranae and Dick were fond of traveling in the U.S. and Canada with their family, and in retirement journeyed to Quartzite, AZ each winter for several years. Ranae and Connie enjoyed visiting each other as much as possible, whether in person or on the phone and especially enjoyed singing together when they both traveled to Quartzite.

Ranae was a strong, Christian woman and lived by her faith.  She knew that someday she would be resurrected to eternal life and be with her Creator.  Our loving God has given her grace and peacefully ended her journey on this earth.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Graveside service, Monday, December 28, 2020, 2:00 p.m., Wellington City Cemetery.  Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to a local animal shelter.
