Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and longtime friend, Ray Olsen Roberts, 90, passed away December 23, 2020 at Good Life Senior Living in Price where he resided for the past three years.

Ray was born in Grace, Idaho on October 27, 1930 to LeRoy McDonald and Gladys Minnie Olsen Roberts.  On June 14, 1952, he married a special young lady by the name of Geessien Alberts in Ogden, Utah.  Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on April 13, 1956. She preceded him in death on June 12, 2018.

Ray was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in numerous capacities.  He faithfully served as bishop in the Helper Ward and a mission alongside his beautiful wife Jean.  Ray and Jean were inseparable and they complemented each other wonderfully.  Ray served in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Tech Sgt. with 20 years of service.  After retiring from the service, he owned and operated a café in Estacada, Oregon and later went to work for Utah Power & Light where he retired from the Carbon Plant as a control room operator.  During this time, Ray and his wife lived year-round in the cabin that the family built in Argyle Canyon.  They shared many wonderful adventures with their family in Argyle, and they cherished the gatherings at the cabin.  He was a craftsman who built several homes. Ray especially loved building the cabin with his son Jan and their families.

Ray loved the great outdoors, especially snowmobiling, riding four wheelers and vacationing across the United States.  He loved action shooting and attending mountain men rendezvous.  He had a heart of gold and loved helping others.  Ray lived a life of service and his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Patty Linn (Matthew) Hevelone, Price; son, Jan LeRoy (Audrey) Roberts, Gallatin, Missouri; brother, John Goldstein, Nevada; sister, Maxine Bruntzel, Washington; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean; daughter, Marla T. Roberts Wheeler; and brothers, Grant and Reid.

Funeral service, Tuesday, December 29, 2020, 1:00 p.m., Helper Stake Center where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service.  Interment will be in the Mt. View Cemetery in Helper, Utah with honors by the Hill Air Force Base Honor Guard.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Ray online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
