It was business as usual for the Carbon Lady Dinos as they extended their winning streak to four with a 55-38 win over the Duchesne Eagles Tuesday night on the road.
Playing in the final non-region game before the league opener on Thursday, the Lady Dinos were brilliant defensively from the start. Opening a 14-2 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Lady Dinos were in control throughout the final three quarters.
Makenna Blanc finished with a team-high 14 points, while adding four rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.
Junior Sydney Orth flirted with a triple-double as she ended with 11 points, eight rebounds and seven steals. Madi Orth also finished with 11 points and Janzie Jensen scored eight.

Duchesne’s Kelsey Grant provided the one bright spot offensively for the Eagles as she scored 17 points. Oakley Butler added six and two others finished with five.
Carbon entered Tuesday’s tilt ranked No. 3 in the first RPI release from the Utah High School Activities Association. South Sevier is currently No. 1 and Richfield No. 2. Those current rankings give Region 12 the top three teams in the classification.
Carbon will now shift it’s attention to the Region 12 opener, which will take place Thursday against No. 1 South Sevier on the road in Monroe.
