Price City made it through another holiday season and they hope that everyone in the community enjoyed their holidays too. Community Director, Nick Tatton came into Castle Country Radio to talk about what the city has planned for 2021.

“The Main Street Program, Price City is a member of that, it’s the state’s pilot project with Brigham City. There’s some great committees, a lot of energy, there’s people working on historic renovations, design aspects. There’s people working on promotions. There are people working on economic development type of activities. There’s a lot of effort with youth, and in getting the youth of the community involved and helping identify what the future and some of the public space ought to be in the downtown area,” stated Tatton. The city is working hard in getting the youth involved in the revamping of Main Street and are always looking forward to hearing from community members as well. Anyone interested in being a part of this process can contact Tatton at City Hall for further information/details.

There are a lot of grants available right now, and one through the Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments can assist local businesses with signage for their business. “We’ve had some wonderful new businesses start-up in the downtown area, and a lot of grant-funded opportunities with façade improvements. There’s a current effort underway through the Association of Governments that’s providing some grant funding to help downtown businesses with some signage. To help with the marketing of the businesses, letting people know they are there, and just improving the corridor,” explained Tatton. Any businesses that are interested in grant information can contact the Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments for further details.

The city is hoping with the new year they will be able to host city events again. “Well of course we are looking forward to maybe a return to some business as usual after the pandemic. We’re looking forward to a great summer, hopefully back to things like International Days and all those activities – celebrate the community. We’re hopeful that business stays strong. We’ve seen good interest in business relocation. We’ve seen quite a bit of interest in residential development and relocation recently. Those are things that add a lot of literal value, as well as esthetic value, and community value and we’re hoping to keep the ball rolling in the right direction,” stated Tatton.
