The USU Eastern Theatre Department is excited to present a production of All My Sons on January 20 through 23. This will take place at the Peterson Black Box Theatre on the campus of USU Eastern. The Stage Manager, Taylor Karns was able to sit down with Castle Country Radio to talk about his responsibilities with the play.

“I am the organizational brain of the entire show. I have an Assistant Stage Manager who also helps me. So we plan out rehearsals, we fill out reports, we relay information while we are rehearsing in the process to our production team which is the costumers, our prop master, our set designer, and stuff like that. We are the person who talks to everyone,” said Karns. This is important position in the production as they help to make sure things run smoothly behind the curtain.

The play is Arthur Miller’s Tony Award-winning play, is based on a true story of two families in Midwest America towards the end of World War II. “All My Sons is an Arthur Miller play that is set in Ohio. Joe Keller has made a decision a long time ago while his sons were in the war, this is set actually in 1946 give or take and it is a journey of the character’s development over a day process as all these characters come back after PTSD issues, coming back from the war, or not getting married, living in a time like this to come to a final decision and a truth be released,” explained Karns. The production is a three-act play and directed by Conner Bennett Wilson.

Due to COVID 19 and University Policy tickets are limited for this event. Attendees will be required to properly wear face coverings during this show. “January 20 through January 23 the doors open at 7:00 pm and we will start at 7:30 pm. We do have a Saturday matinee at 2:00 pm, the doors will open at 1:30 pm. All our tickets are $9.00 and they are online and we will not be selling tickets at the door. They are on https://www.eventbrite.com/ and you can just search All My Sons,” said Karns. The production will take place in the Peterson Black Box Theatre on the USU Eastern Campus.
