Friday night was Senior night for Pinnacle High School, before the game they called all the seniors out on the floor and honored them each with a small gift and told stories of their best memories at Pinnacle, then it was time to get to work.

They had just faced the American Prep Eagles on Wednesday falling 61-37. Friday night in their own gym they hoped for a different result and though the Panthers battled hard they landed on the wrong side of  a 63-50 score.

Pinnacle coach Ray Jones Jr. wanted a fast start and he got one. The Panthers jumped out quick in the first quarter running up and down the court and scoring at will. They went quiet in the second quarter only managing nine points and allowing the Eagles to carry a 10 point lead to the locker room. The second half was much tighter, but not enough as Pinnacle was handed a 13 point loss.

Wade Hymas led the Eagles in this one with 28 points. Jalen Argyle added 12 and Kasey Morris scored 11.

For the Panthers it was Christian Winder with 22 points. Johnathan Kessler and Dominic Gutierrez both added seven.

Pinnacle, who now sits at 5-5 and No. 12 in the state RPI, will have little time to dwell on the loss as they will be on the road Saturday taking on Mount Vernon. The two teams have faced each other earlier this season at the Winter Classic with Mount Vernon taking a 56-41 win.
