The Carbon boys and girls swim teams hosted 10 schools at the Desert Wave Pool on Saturday in the Last Chance swim meet. And in their home pool the two time defending 3A State Champion Carbon girls claim first place defeating second place Emery by 204 points . The Carbon boys finished in fourth place behind Salem Hills, Richfield and Grand County.
The ladies relay teams really shined at the meet claiming the top spot in two relays the team of Thalyn Lyman, Mia Crompton, Sofia Crompton and Haylie Powell finished with a time of 1:52.29 in the 200 yard free relay. Sofia Crompton was joined by Nicole Swasey, Tyrca Jarammillo and Alyssa Chamberlain and posted a time of 2:04.63 in the 200 yard relay.
In individual events Tyrca Jaramillo claimed first place with a time of 1:18.70 just ahead of team mate Nicole Swasey with a time of 1:19.02 in the 100 yard breast stroke.
On the boys side, Camden Chamberlain took the top spot in the 500 yard free, finishing with a time of 5:48.36, just ahead of team mate Boyd Bradford who came in second.
Up next for the Dinos, they will host the Region Championships on Thursday the 28th. This will be the last meet until they will finish up the season at BYU for the State Championships on February 12 and 13.
