On January 21, 2021, our beloved mother, grandmother, and daughter, Jerry Lee Willson Chavez, 62, returned to her loving Heavenly Father.  She passed away peacefully in Provo, UT, with her family close by.

She was born September 30, 1958, in Price, UT, to Ellis and Lou Jean Willson. She was raised and lived most of her life in Wellington, UT. Jerry married Edward Chavez, Jr on May 7, 1977. They raised their 3 children together before going their separate ways after 33 years.

Jerry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She received her endowments and loved attending the temple.  She enjoyed serving in primary, young women’s, relief society, and as musical director.

Jerry had many talents that she shared fearlessly. She loved music and she sang and played guitar. She decorated cakes for her friends and coworkers. She received her cosmetology license right out of high-school and cut,

dyed, and styled hair for her family. She also enjoyed sewing, crochet, and gardening.

Jerry discovered her passion and served people with disabilities for over 20 years. She helped them increase their independence and to always feel included. She founded her own company, Choices, Inc, in 2002, and devoted herself to her clients until selling the business in 2010.  She loved working with these unique individuals and taught her family to love and serve others regardless of their differences.

She is survived by her father, Marvon Ellis Willson; siblings, Marvon (Alicia) Willson, Kristy (David) Prettyman, and Terry Ericson; children, Edward (Candi) Chavez, Victoria Chavez, and Jerico Chavez; and grandchildren, Sky and Kirstin Chavez.

Jerry was preceded in death by her mother, Lou Jean Golding Willson and her brother Layne (Marie) Willson.

Funeral service, Wednesday, January 27, 2021, 11:00 a.m., Wellington Fourth Ward Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service.  Interment, Wellington City Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
