The Green River Pirates welcomed the Tigers of Tabiona to Green River on Saturday, but they weren’t very hospitable, jumping out to an early lead and closing the door for a 69-44 victory.

Tabiona is currently 10-7 and sits at No. 7 in the State RPI rankings, these rankings will be used later for seeding when State Championship tournament time comes around.

The Pirates jumped on the Tigers in the first quarter outscoring them 21-8, they would then push their lead to 38-20 at the half. Tabiona played it pretty close in the second half but the damage was done and the ladies claimed the 25 point win.

For the Pirates, Talynn Lovato led the way with 24 points. Morgan Bastian added 18 and Rilee Lenhoff chipped in with six in the victory.

Up next for Green River will be a home meeting with Monticello Buckaroo on Thursday. Back on December 10th they traveled to face the Buckaroo taking the 62-23 victory. The Pirates will then be off til the following Tuesday when they travel to Price to take on the Panthers.
