Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, George B. Schade, passed away after a long, hard battle with dementia with family by his side on January 24, 2021, at the age of 81 wonderful years.

George was born in Price, Utah to George Rodney and Waunita Wilson Schade. He later joined the US Navy and was stationed at Moffett Field Air Base where he worked as a jet airplane mechanic and later spent time on carriers at sea. After his military service, he lived in California for several years.

George is the oldest of 16 children. In 1977, he married Alta (Snookie) and they shared 43 years together. He raised three step-daughters Marcie, Dawn, and Cindy. He was an awesome dad and will be missed dearly.

George loved spending time bicycling, fishing, coaching baseball, target shooting, ice skating, camping, country music concerts (especially Willie Nelson), playing pool, and riding his 4-wheeler every chance he could. He also loved exploring and taking pictures of petroglyphs and wildlife, especially eagles and deer.

Any time any of the grandkids or kids in the neighborhood need a bicycle fixed, they would bring it to Papa. He would take throw-away bikes and bring them back to life. No child went without a bike to ride. George also enjoyed building scooters and go-carts.

George worked as a machinist and foreman for over 50 years in many places and later retired from Joy Manufacturing. He loved what he did in his profession and lived life to the fullest.

He is survived by his wife, Alta (Snookie) Schade; brothers, Carl and Earl, sisters, Lynda and Sandra; daughters, Marcie (John) Ularich, Dawn (Kent) Jones, Cindy (Mike) Stansfield of Price, Utah; and Rebecca Schade of California; eight grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents George and Waunita Schade; sisters, Jean, Ruth, Becky, and Dorothy; brothers, Garold, Dick, Brent, Jerald, Ralph, Will, and Jim.

The family would like to share a special thank you to Symbii, Good Life Senior Living and Mitchell Funeral Home for being so very compassionate, understanding, and taking such great care for George.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date when the weather warms up.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome to share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
