After not having a St. Patrick’s Day Parade last year, the Price City Council, after talking to the Health Department has decided that this year on March 20, the floats and bands will take to Main Street starting at noon.
With the exception of last year, the parade has been held every year since 1982, the one time of the year where everyone is Irish. Last year’s parade, which was scheduled for March 14, 2020 was one of the first events that was victim to the March 6, 2020 Executive Order signed by then Governor Gary Herbert.
“We’ve been working very closely with the Health Department to make sure that everything is going to be okay, and make sure that the spectators and participants are kept safe”, stated Megan Marshall this years parade chairwomen.
Once again this year you will be able to vote for your favorite entry in the parade Marshall explained, “We’re expanding on that as well, so it will still be a text vote system to make it easy on everybody as well, all entries will be clearly numbered because we want to get that participation from businesses and organizations.”
Parade organizers are looking for entries from local organizations, businesses and even families.”We highly encourage family groups to come out, if you have a large family you want to come out and do something, then by all means we want to see that participation”, Marshall stated.
Applications will be available on Price City’s website: pricecityutah.com, go in and fill out the form and it will be forwarded to Marshall, who will get all of your information to you.
