On February 9, 2021 our sweet example of perfect love, Charity Lorraine Cox, age four, returned to her Heavenly Father and Mother.

It was an exciting day for her to return to her eternal home and be with her family members that preceded her in mortal death. They include, grandmothers, Lynnette Cox, Lorraine Bunnell, Laura Anderson and Thelma Janett Rosser; grandfathers, Arlie Rosser, Mick Bunnell; aunts, Grace Johnson, Bonnie Wilde, Gay Lynn Anderson; uncles, Roger Anderson, Boyd Anderson, among others.

Words cannot explain how hard it is to lose a daughter, granddaughter, sister, or friend, someone you helped raise, saw grow, and reach so many milestones. She leaves behind her father, Jody; mother, Anne; sisters, Kristine, McKenzie, Paige, Laura and Katelyn; brothers, Sunny, Skylen, Sterling and William.

Although Charity’s life was short she lived life to the fullest. She spent her time playing with her parents, grandparents, siblings and friends, and loving animals. She deeply loved all she came in contact with.  The last several months of her life, she met and made many friends. She would tell each one of them, with all sincerity, I love you. Charity truly lived up to her name. She was a follower of Christ in word and in deed. When she was learning to speak, her first word was the name of our Savior, Jesus.

Charity taught everyone what Christlike love truly looks like, sounds like, and what it feels like. The greatest lesson that we have learned from her is that, as you travel through life, live and give what you can at that very moment to lift and love one another.

We pray to God that as she has moved to the next step of her eternity our family will be helped through this, to be strong and that we will never forget the last lesson Charity taught, which was the greatest of all; to show charity to our fellow men. Please help us to always remember her spirit and be grateful for all the time that we have had and will have in the future with her. Help us to continue to learn from her and life what she and our Savior taught.

Though she is no longer in our presence here on earth Charity is with us in spirit, and because of the sealing power of the priesthood, no power in heaven or earth can keep us from being reunited again. Because Jesus Christ atoned for our sins, Charity was made whole and we will be with her once again. Until then, Charity, may God be with you, and when next we meet, at the resurrection, the bitter sting of death will be overcome, and we will embrace and shed tears of joy. We love you sweet girl.
