Janet B. Ericson O’Berto, age 70, passed away March 4, 2021 in Price, Utah.

Janet was born May 4, 1950 in Standardville, Utah to Ralph D. Ericson and A. Marie Mortensen. She was the sixth of seven children and the youngest girl.

Janet was a longtime resident of Wellington and a graduate of Carbon High School Class of 1968. On April 11, 1969, she married Bradley Pratt (Pat) Allred in Wellington, Utah. They had two sons, Brad and Chad, prior to their divorce. She married John Baptist O’Berto on August 17, 1984 in Huntington, Utah; their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.

Janet enjoyed doing 4-H and riding club when she was younger. She loved camping, family reunions, going places with family, as well as having lunch with her friends. She was an avid bowler and a member of the bowling league for years. Janet was a tireless worker who was employed as a manager at JB’s in Price where she met her beloved husband John. Mom and John were partners in crime and they loved working alongside each other. Together they opened J-n-J Café in Wellington where they loved visiting with customers, catering for parties, creating memories, and always willing to share a good joke. Janet eventually retired from the State of Utah where she worked as a cook at the Detention Center. No matter her role in life, Janet always brought great comfort and joy to those around her. Everyone will miss her smile, contagious laughter and her incredible sense of humor.

Mom was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she enjoyed working in the library. She was a longtime member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers where she served as captain and the 1st vice-captain. Janet dedicated her life to the service of others and our lives have all been enriched by knowing her.

She is survived by her sons, Brad Allred and Chad (Laura Lea) Allred; grandchildren, Cylon Nielson, Garron Nielson, and Shayann Allred all of Wellington; step-children, Gary O’Berto and Jackie (Scott) VanRooy; step-grandchildren, Ashley and Abagail VanRooy all of Tennessee; her beloved siblings, Jolene Tucker-Cummings, Colleen (James) Cave, Jerry (Sharon) Ericson and Ed (Gerry) Ericson; many loving nieces, nephews and a community of friends.
