It’s time to talk road construction, relocating that Visitors Center with Price City Council Member, Terry Willis for the Price City Update on Castle Country Radio.

“We’re going to be doing road construction on 700 East from 100 South to Nick Lane and that’s the first section of our project. Then we will be moving to Fourth Avenue and doing some sewer and road work there, then to 300 East from 400 North to 700 North and again, doing some sewer line, water lines and complete road construction on that,” stated Willis. These projects will begin in March and are planned to be completed sometime in July. Residents are asked to following directions on the road construction signs and be patient during the process.

There has been talk about possible moving the Visitor’s Center into the USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum. “We’ve been talking about it since last fall and we’ve had a joint group with the college, and the county, and Price City to look at the feasibility of that and we will have it done before the tour season starts. So its just hiring a part-time person to help with that and rearranging the little space, there’s not a lot of space at the museum that’s available. But there will be some rearranging and some kiosks and a lot more visitor information. We will look at doing some good signage to get people there so they know where that Visitor’s Center is,” explained Willis. This location is ideal as its in the center of town near the downtown area and has adequate parking for those traveling through the area in RVs.

Even though spring has yet to arrive in the area, there is a High School event that will be taking place in the Fall of this year that will bring in some great revenue to the area. “For the bike track that has the high school mountain bike team we’ve got two races scheduled this year and they will be about three weeks apart, which will give residents a little bit of a break. We are actively looking at the dust control measures, we’re making improvements to the parking area, to the staging area, to every part of that, to continue looking at addressing the issues of the residents in the area. But those events bring in so much money to our area,” said Willis. The city is looking forward to the events and more details will come when the event gets closer.
