The Carbon Medical Service offers a wide array of services to community members in both Carbon and Emery Counties. Castle Country Radio was able to speak over the telephone with Family Nurse Practitioner, Haven Halk to discuss all the services they offer.
“Carbon Medical and the Helper Clinic we are federally qualified health care clinics. So that means we have federal funding to help us provide care to underserved and underinsured populations. We also accept all insurances including Medicaid and Medicare. We see people across the live spectrum. So we do family, care of children, and we do care of adults, families and also our elderly population,” explained Halk. Carbon Medical is located in East Carbon and the Helper Clinic is located in Helper. Both clinics provide quality healthcare for all.
Each of the clinics has pharmacy services for their patients. “Both clinics also have pharmacies which has sliding scales built in to help with costs of medications and the pharmacy also take insurance as well,” said Halk. The pharmacy also offers delivery to their clients Monday through Friday and they also have a refill app for mobile devices.
The clinic also offers dental services to patients. “We also have the opportunity to have dental care that receives insurance including Medicaid and also has a sliding scale fee. Our dentist is Dr. Gardner he’s really fabulous, people love him including kiddos,” said Halk. They are available for patients’ dental needs. The clinic in East Carbon is located at 331 Highway 123 and the Helper Clinic is located at 125 South Main Street.
“Then we have behavioral health at both clinics as well. So we have really awesome counselors that provide counseling support services for all kinds of issues with mental health, depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use disorders, and we even have a counselor that kind of specializes in pediatrics,” stated Halk.
