The Carbon Dinos Softball team was in Southern Utah over the weekend taking on teams from Pineview and Hurricane before heading to St. George to begin tournament play. The weekend turned out to be good one for the Dinos as they traveled home 4-0.

This week the Dinos will have three road contests starting on Tuesday when they travel to Monroe to take on South Sevier, they will turn around an head right back on the road on Wednesday when they will be in Manti to take on the Templars. The Dinos will finish up the week with the long road trip to Blanding to take on San Juan.

Below is a recap of the weekends matches:

March 12- Salem Hills- Win 8-1
Game 1 of the St. George tournament would be against the Salem Hills Skyhawks. The game would be suspended due to the weather and then called after two full innings giving the Dinos the 8-1 victory.

Once again Brooke Moosman earned the win going two innings. Makayla Scovill had three RBI’s in the game on two hits and Lyndsey Madrigal registered two RBI.

March 12- Mountain View- Win 26-0
In the final game for the Dinos of the weekend, they would unload on Mountain View, a 5A team from Orem, 26-0 in three innings.

Carbon jumped out early with 11 runs in the first inning. They would go on to add three in the second and 12 in the third.

There was plenty of offense to go around for the Dinos with three players: Brooke Moosman, Molly Horsley and Lyndsey Madrigal each contributing five RBI’s in the game.

Moosman would go two innings and Haven Byerly would come in to pitch the final inning.
