Sitting at 4-0 heading in to their road match-up with the South Sevier Rams the Carbon Dino softball team has been quite dominant this season. And that would not change in their latest game when they defeated the Rams 24-0 in three innings on Tuesday in Monroe.

With the win over South Sevier, the Dinos move to 5-0 and have outscored their opponents 87-10 in 20 innings of play.

Carbon jumped out early in the top of the first scoring 11 runs in the inning. South Sevier struggled from the mound walking three Dinos player and also hitting four with pitches. In the second it was more of the same for Carbon with one out on the scoreboard, Lyndsey Madrigal homered driving in Molly Horsley and Heaven Vigil pushing the score to 16-0. The Dinos would carry all the momentum in to the third inning and finsh off the Rams.

Molly Horsley would collect three runs on three hits and five RBI’s in the win. Lyndsey Madrigal would add four RBI’s and two runs on two hits and Graycie Hansen would also contribute four RBI’s and 2 runs on two hits. Five other Dino players had at least one RBI in the contest.

On the mound it was Brooke Madsen getting the start and the win for the Dinos going two innings and striking out three while allowing one hit. Tenley Madsen would go one inning striking out two.

Up next for Carbon is a road trip to Manti to take on the Templars on Wednesday.

They will follow that up with a long road trip to Blanding to take on San Juan before their first home contest of the season on March 23 when they welcome Richfield to Price.
