Coming off a win over Summit Academy last week on the road, the Carbon Dino baseball team was eager to get back on the field on Wednesday. The Dinos made the trip to take on the Granstville Cowboys, and though the Cowboys showed a little fight, Carbon came away with the 12-7 win.

The Dinos started out the season with a home loss to Payson back on March 9, but have gone on to win their last two contests.

Carbon scored two runs in each of the first and second innings but it was the third when they did the most damage. Cooper Schade started things off scoring Kade Dimmick on a single to right. Derrick Robinson would drive in Jordan Wright and Schade off a double to left field then in the next at bat Wyatt Falk would empty the bases with a home run over the center field fence. Rylan Hart would cap off the six run third by driving in Brayton Nielsen on a single to left field.

Hart would go 3-of-4 from the plate with a run and two RBIs. The trio of Dimmick, Robinson and Falk each registered two RBIs in the contest as well.

On the mound Wyatt Falk was credited with the win going four innings giving up two earned runs while striking out seven. Keaton Rich would take over in the fifth allowing five hits and five runs. Jordan Fossat would go the final 2 1/3 innings with three hits and striking out two.

The Dinos will take to the field again on Friday as they welcome the 5A Timpview Thunderbirds. This game was supposed to be a road contest but the venue was changed earlier in the week.

The game is scheduled for a 3:00 start at the Carbon High School Fields.
