Coming off a loss on Wednesday to Manti, the Carbon Dino softball team was ready to get back in to action on Friday as they faced the San Juan Broncos on the road in Blanding. The Dinos took no prisoners taking the victory 20-3 in four innings and running their season record to 6-1.

The Dinos have been on a tear lately, only being slowed down by Manti who beat Carbon on a walk-off double by one run on March 17.

The Dinos got right to work in the first inning staring with a Lyndsey Madrigal home run that brought in Molly Horsley. Later in the same inning Katie Jones would double to left scoring Haven Byerly, Heaven Vigil and Amya Prettyman. Jones would score on a Tenley Madsen double to left.

The second inning was quiet with Carbon scoring three runs on a Gianna Bruno home run that scored Horsley and Madrigal. San Juan scored their only runs of the game in the bottom of the the third.

It was the fourth inning where the Dinos did some serious damage. Scoring eight of their 11 runs in the inning on a two out rally with nine players registering hits in the inning and being capped off by Prettyman scoring on a Jones single to left to push the score to 20-3. In the bottom of the inning the Dinos faced three batters registering three strikeouts, ending the contest in four.

Leading the way for Carbon was Lyndsey Madrigal with four RBIs on three hits including one home run and scoring three. Katie Jones registered five RBIs on three hits scoring two runs and Gianna Bruno registered four RBIs on two hits including a homerun.

On the mound the Dinos, Brooke Moosman got the start going three innings allowing three earned runs striking out six Haven Byerly ended the game going one inning striking out three.

Up next for the Dinos is another region match-up with Richfield on Tuesday the 23 in Price. Game time is set for 3:30.
