The Dinos headed back to the baseball diamond on Friday after a road victory on Wednesday against Grantsville. Carbon welcomed the 5A Timpview Thunderbirds to Price and were not very nice hosts beating the Thunderbirds in five innings 19-2.

The Dinos are sitting at 3-1 this season with the only loss in this season coming at the hands of Payson in the first contest of the campaign.

Carbon started early scoring 11 runs in the first two innings of the game. With the score sitting at 2-0 in the bottom of the second inning, Jacob Vasquez and Brayton Nielsen scored on a Jordan Wright double to left. After that the hit parade would continue as Jordan Fossat would score Wright and Rylan Hart on a double to left. The Dinos would run the score to 11-0 after a six hit inning that also saw Timpview commit two errors give up two walks and hit two batters with a pitch.

In the third inning the Dinos started up again and capped off the seven run scoring barrage with a Keaton Rich grand slam home run which scored Nielsen, Wright and Hart pushing the score to 18-0. Carbon would add one more in the bottom of the fourth on a Cayden Steele double to center that would score Wyatt Falk.

Rich led the Dinos with four RBIs on two hits while scoring two runs. Jordan Fossat and Jordan Wright would each add two RBIs on two hits with five other players registering at least one RBI each.

On the mound for the Dinos, Cooper Schade got the start going three innings giving up just one hit and striking out five. Steele went one with a strikeout and Nielsen would also go one while giving up two earned runs.

The Dinos now will have a back-to-back away and home with South Sevier on Tuesday and Wednesday before heading to Cedar City on Thursday to take on the Reds. They will continue south for a St. George tournament on Friday and Saturday.

Start time for the home game against South Sevier on Wednesday is set for 3 pm.
