Although school is still in session for a few more months the Price Boys and Girls Club is preparing for their summer program where they accommodate children ages kindergarten to 18 years of age with child care. Club Director, Jessica Haro stopped by Castle Country Radio to talk about the summer program.

“Oh we’ve got so much coming up. So as always, we allot some time to help the kids out with education especially in the summer, a lot of regression happens in learning so we’ll make sure to incorporate some educational activities. But additionally, we have a lot of trips coming up. We’re going to be taking the teens white water rafting, doing camping trips, lots of field trips, you know just get them out in the sun I think kids have been cooped up enough as it is this last year,” said Haro. Students can also enjoy activities involving sports, art and science experiences.

If you would like to be a part of the summer program you can register very easily and its very affordable. “It is only $20.00 for the entire summer and if any parents want to get there kid a club t-shirt its only an extra $5.00,” stated Haro. Registration will open to current club members first, starting the beginning of April and then registration will open to the public at the end of the month.

The summer program will begin on June 7 to August 6 and they are hoping to extend their hours from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm to accommodate families with summer care. “I think you know parents have enough on their plates as it is and we want to offer as much programs, and activities and I think with more time that we have we can obviously offer more,” explained Haro. It’s not official about the summer hours at this time but as the summer approaches the Price Boys & Girls Club will know more at that time.
