The Dinos were on the road in Monroe on Tuesday to take on the South Sevier Rams in the first region contest of the season. In a defensive gem giving up just one run Carbon pushed their overall record to 4-1 by claiming the victory 7-1 over the Rams.

Carbon has a busy week ahead of them as this was the first of seven games scheduled which will include a southern road trip with games in Cedar City and St. George.

Putting a run on the board in the first inning, Carbon would go scoreless in the second waiting until the third to put more runs on the board. Rylan Hart would score off a Jordan Fossat single to left. Later in the inning Keaton Rich would score on a wild pitch and Kade Dimick would score on a ground out from Jacob Vasquez to third making the score 4-0.

Then in the top of the sixth the Dinos would add three more runs. Brayton Nielsen would score on a Jordan Wright dropped third strike,  Hart would score  on a Rich single to short and Rich would then score the final run on an error from the third baseman, pushing the score to 7-0, South Sevier would score their only run on a wild pitch from Wyatt Falk, who would then strike out the side to close out the sixth inning with the score 7-1.

Jordan Fossat would register two RBIs on one hit in the victory. Keaton Rich, Jacob Fausett and Jordan Wright would all collect one RBI in the game. As a team the Dinos registered 10 hits and only committed one error.

On the mound Wyatt Falk got the start and the win going six innings allowing one earned run and striking out eight. Rylan Hart would come in for just one inning striking out one on seven pitches.

Carbon will now turn around and face South Sevier again on Wednesday before heading out on the road. They will take part in a double header on Thursday in Cedar City as they take on the Reds. Then they will travel to St. George for three games in two days where they will face Union, Grand and Desert Hills. They will return home to take to the diamond on Wednesday the 31st against Juab before they take time off for spring break.

The Wednesday game is set to begin at 3:30 at the ball field in Price.
