Price City each month sends a representative to Castle Country Radio to keep listeners posted or informed on various topics. This month the update was with Price City Council Member, Amy Knott-Jespersen who spoke on the city’s community clean up and Price City Youth Council Easter Egg Hunt.
In years past the city has done a pick-up of items during the community clean-up but this year they have decided to do away with that service. “We are not picking up curbside garbage. Don’t put your garbage, don’t put your yard waste out on the curb. Price City will not pick up this year. Instead, the county is opening up the dump, there will be no fees to dump yard waste or whatever garbage you have out at the dump between April 12 and April 24,” explained Knott-Jespersen. Individuals will not be charged a dumping fee during this time.
It’s not a bad idea to help those elderly neighbors when it comes to community clean-up. “If you just see that your neighbor is in need or know that they are elderly or don’t have a truck or trailer don’t have a way to haul their yard waste or whatever they need hauled out to the dump. You might have the capacity to do that just like help them out. It helps our entire community when we help each other out,” said Knot-Jespersen. If you know an individual that may need assistance with community clean-up it’s not a bad idea to reach out and partner with community organizations such as church groups.
“Price Youth Council is putting on an Easter Egg Hunt in Washington Park on April 3 at noon. They’ve got tons of different eggs; these are filled with candy and tickets for prizes and they’ll be different sections of the park that are designated for different age groups. So it will be fun, it can be fun for everybody and like I said they got tons of great prizes,” stated Knott-Jespersen. The Price City Youth Council is made up of several high school students who are involved in community projects.
