Michelle, our mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and hero passed away in the morning of March 27, 2021 at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah. She passed filled with love and surrounded by her children and mother. She was 49 years old.
Michelle was born on the 30st of November 1971, in Price, Utah. She was born to Gary & Jolene Petty. Michelle was residing in Emery County with her mother Jolene at the time of her passing.
Michelle was a “local” to the Emery County area. She was raised in the small town of Emery, graduated at Emery High School, and supported the community through multiples of occupations/services. Michelle always considered Emery to be her true home. She grew up with two sisters, Cheryl Cox and Christine Brown. She was always very passionate and dedicated to anything that she set her sights on. From riding four wheelers all around the local streets, making lifelong friends, to playing on local softball teams, and even playing baseball on the boys’ team. She always loved being in Emery county even after moving away to start her own family.
Michelle has achieved many great things in her life. Despite all her ups and downs with many different health issues, she served 16 years in the roofing industry and achieved multiples of certifications while working in the medical field as a CNA. She has been the employee of the month and performed at the top in many different trades along the way. She has built many great relationships with many people over those years. Michelle would always feel that her greatest achievement was that of her children. She was not only their mother but, in many situations, their best friend. Michelle loved spending time with her family the most. Countless Christmas nights at grandmas, spending time with her beloved pets, listening to her favorite music live at many concerts, spoiling her grandchildren and always giving everyone the greatest gift of all time, an open heart. She truly devoted her life to the service of caring for others.
Michelle is survived by her children: Damon (Kelly) Anderson of Cedar Hills, Utah; Taryn (Kristopher) Johnston of Cedar City, Utah; Mother, Jolene Petty of Emery, Utah; Sisters, Christine (Eric) Brown of Taylorsville, Utah and Cheryl Cox of Huntington, Utah. She also had two grandchildren, Adylynn and McKinley Anderson.
She is preceded in death by her father, Gary Petty. As well as, her most beloved pets, Dobbs and Gus.
The family of Michelle would like to express their love and gratitude for the service, contributions, and acts of kindness from all her loved ones, friends, and supporters through her journeys.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Emery Ward Chapel in Emery, Utah at 65 North Center St. Emery, UT 84522. Viewing will be held Saturday April 3, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Emery Ward Church.
