Coming off a 19-0 win over the San Juan Broncos on Tuesday the Dinos were looking to keep the offensive momentum going in their game against the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs on Wednesday. Behind the stellar pitching effort of Janzen Keisel, the Bulldogs took the 1-0 victory in Price.

Gunnison Valley is the No. 1 team in 2A with a record of 10-1 and sits at a perfect 4-0 in the South Region.

Kade Dimick registered the only hit for the Dinos in the seventh inning with a single to center, Wyatt Falk would get on base due to an error by the second baseman and then Derick Robinson would collect a walk to load the bases with just one out. Keisel would strike out the next two batters leaving the bases loaded and collect the win for Gunnison Valley.

Janzen Keisel was nearly unhittable giving up one hit and no runs while striking out 18.

Carbon used three pitchers in the contest. Jordan Wright would get the start and the loss going 4 1/3 giving up one earned run on three hits and struck out eight. Wyatt Falk entered the game for 1 2/3 striking out one and Rylan Hart took over on the mound in the seventh to finish the game and struck out two.

Carbon sits with a 9-5 record and holds the No. 3 spot in the Utah High School Activities Association’s RPI rankings.

They will hit the field on Friday to take on the San Juan Broncos, game time is set for 3:30. They will also host Bountiful on Saturday in a game that was rescheduled from March 13.
