
Brooke Moosman was on cruise control and received the run support she needed to finish off the San Juan Broncos on Tuesday at home 16-0. Moosman surrendered just three hits striking out six to move the Dinos to perfect 6-0 in Region 12 play.
Carbon is 11-1 overall and sitting in the No. 4 spot in the RPI rankings. The RPI will set seeding come playoff time which is less than a month away. The Dinos have eight games remaining on their schedule four of which are in conference.
The Dinos did their damage in the first inning scoring 11 runs. Makayla Scovill would get things started with a triple to left bringing Molly Horsley home. On the next pitch Lyndsey Madrigal sent a two run shot to right to bring Scovill home. Haven Bryerly would come to the plate and clear the bases once more with a shot to left field. Katie Jones would double to second, add that to a Graycie Hansen single that would push the score to 8-0. Later in the inning Brooke Moosman would single to center scoring Hansen and Horsley and the inning would end with Madrigal stealing home.
In the second inning, Amya Prettyman would come home on a fielder’s choice. Tenley Madsen grounded out to the second baseman but that would allowing Katie Jones to score. Hansen would cross the plate off of an error on the first baseman. Madrigal would collect her second home run of the day with a shot to center field bringing in Scovill.
Lyndsey Madrigal went for four RBIs on three hits and scoring three runs. Haven Bryerly would add three RBIs with one hit and one run. Five other players would collect at least one RBI in the win.
Brooke Moosman got the complete game win, giving up three hits with no runs and struck out six.
The Dinos will take the field on Wednesday to face The Grand County Red Devils in Price. This will mark the first meeting of the two teams this season. The Red Devils sit at No. 3 in the state RPI.
The will then take on the Richfield Wildcats on Friday on the road.
