
The Region 12 girl’s golf season continued Thursday afternoon as all competing schools and players traveled to the Carbon Country Club for the fifth league competition of the season.
The Richfield Wildcats continued to control the league standings as they earned yet another victory, finishing with a final team score of 354. The Emery Lady Spartans ended second at 415, followed by Grand and South Sevier.
Maci Nielson paced the Lady Spartans with a team-low score of 91. Angie Nielson was second on the team with 104, followed by Janika Beagley’s 108. Kimber Gilbert recorded the squad’s fourth score at 112.
Savanna Rassmussen was the lone Carbon golfer competing on the team’s home course. She delivered a top 10 individual performance, ending with a 105.
Richfield’s Piper Harris topped teammate Becca Poulsen by three strokes for the individual win in the meet. Harris shot an 83 as the Wildcats recorded the top three scores of the event.
Only two Region 12 meets remain before the league championship on April 29. The participants will continue the season Wednesday afternoon at the Hideout Golf Course, the home site for the San Juan Broncos.
