On Monday afternoon the Lady Dinos welcomed the Uintah Utes to Price. While the game stayed close early, Uintah found offense in the fourth and the sixth innings and that, coupled with a great defensive effort took the 11-1 victory.

The Dinos were sitting at No. 3 in the state RPI rankings and fell to N0. 5 in the latest version released yesterday evening. Carbon still sits at 13-2 overall and 8-0 in Region 12 play with just five games left in the regular season.

Carbon collected eight hits in the contest but very uncharacteristically committed four errors, three in the sixth that were responsible for three Uintah runs. The Dinos only score came in the fifth inning when Stevie Oman was driven in by a Molly Horsley ground out to the first baseman.

Stevie Oman and Lyndsey Madrigal each collected two hits for the Dinos in the loss. Molly Horsley had the lone RBI on one hit.

On the mound the Dinos would use two pitchers against the Utes. Haven Byerly started the game and took the loss going 5 1/3 innings giving up eight runs (six earned) on 11 hits and struck out four. Tenley Madsen came in going 2/3 and gave up two runs on three hits.

The Dinos look ahead to Tuesday when they will face the Emery Spartans in Price. The two teams faced each other in late March with Carbon taking a 13-5 win.  Then the Dinos will be on the road to take on North Summit on Wednesday and will end the week on the road in Moab to take on the Grand County Red Devils on Friday. Grand sits in the No. 4 spot and Carbon will be looking for the season sweep as they won their earlier meeting 10-0.

The game with Emery will begin at 7:00 pm, at the Carbon County Fairgrounds.
