
Both the Carbon and Emery golf teams traveled to Monticello to compete in Wednesday’s Region 12 match-up. The Hideout Golf Club, the home course of the San Juan Broncos, was the backdrop for this week’s matches, a course that has many elevation changes and is a challenge to even the most seasoned golfer.
The ladies from Richfield would once again claim the top spot this week ending the day with a combined score of 352. The Spartans finished in second with a 446. Grand and South Sevier ended the day taking third and fourth.
Maci Nielsen turned in the low score for the Spartans with a 107. Angie Nielsen and Jannika Beagley would both card 110, Maggie Lindsey turned in a 119.
Savanna Rassmussen, the Dinos only participant, had another great performance turning a 113.
The regular season is down to just one final match. Next Thursday, April 29, the South Sevier Rams will welcome Region 12 to the Cove View course in Richfield. This will be the third time the golfers have played the course this season.
The Mountain View Golf Course will host both the Region 12 meet and the State Tournament this year. The region match will take place on May 3, and the 3A Championship will take place the following week on May 12-13.
