The Spartans took to the road last Friday to compete in the Tiger Trials held at Orem High School. This was one of the largest meets all year with over 30 different schools from all classifications from across the state competing. The Emery boys finished in the 17 spot and the girls tied for 30.
The host school Orem claimed first place on the boys side with West Jordan, Corner Canyon Pine View and West Lake rounding out the top five. Trevin Brazier, who has been having a stellar season for the Spartans finished in third place in both the 110 and 300 meter hurdles claiming all 12 of Emery’s points for the meet.
Lone Peak grabbed first place for the girls. Bingham, Salem Hills, Herriman and Timpanogos made up the rest of the top five. Bethany Justice claimed an eighth place finish out of 64 competitors in the 300 meter hurdles.
Emery will be competing in the Eastern Utah Championships this Friday at Carbon High School. This meet will consist of schools from the eastern part of the state.
