Maria Rebecca Karnes, age 94, entered peacefully into eternal rest on May 3, 2021, in her daughter’s home surrounded by family.

She was born to Presciliano and Mary (Quintana) Florez on November 5, 1926, in Juanita, CO.

Maria moved to Southern California, where she met and married David Karnes at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Los Angeles on April 16, 1966. Maria spent most of her life as a homemaker, raising her son and daughter. Her faith in God was like no other. This was the source of her strength, kindness, wisdom, patience and unconditional love. The presence of God shone through Maria in such a noticeable way especially through the way she always put herself last, whether in her marriage, or with her family, or anyone else she came into contact with.

Maria is survived by her two children, Greg, Gloria (Joe Watson); her two grandchildren who meant the world to her, Ryan and Cobi, and many nieces and nephews.

Maria is reunited in heaven with her husband, David, her siblings, parents and other family members.

Funeral Mass Thursday, May 13, 2021, 10:00 a.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church, 210 No. Carbon Ave. Price. Vigil Service Wednesday evening, 7:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East, Price, UT. The family will be at Mitchell’s Wednesday and Thursday one hour prior to services.
