The East Carbon Recreation Association is hosting the Range Creek Round-Up which is set to take place on Saturday, May 22 at 9:00 am. This event is open to all ages and will be a great way to give back to the community.

“This campground was built six or seven years ago. It’s maintained sporadically here and there as there is time for people to come out and volunteer. It’s seen some better days so we want to start doing a yearly clean-up about this weekend or the weekend before Memorial Day and just clean it up a little bit before the main camping season starts,” said Event Organizer, Donald McCarty. Volunteers are invited to come out on Friday evening to camp, then wake up early on Saturday morning for the fundraiser breakfast before clean-up begins. The breakfast is first-come, first-serve and all proceeds from the breakfast will go towards clean-up expenses.

After the clean-up is completed there will be an opportunity to enjoy some rides on the trails or do some hiking. “The really nice thing about this particular campground is it’s kind of a hub. Because you can take an ATV ride south and you can get to Little Park Road, Turtle Canyon, or you can take Horse Canyon back to Range Creek, once you get to the Range Creek parking area back there you’ve got to have a guide to go in or you can walk in to see Range Creek. There are just so many options just from that one campground,” said McCarty.

Anyone interested in participating in the Range Creek Round-Up can just show up on the day of the event or if you need further information contact the East Carbon Recreation Association on Facebook.
