Born on January 22, 1957 in Price, UT to Kent and Lois Pilling. Married to Kari Lynn Blackham on September 18, 1976 in Helper, UT.  She preceded him in death on February 16, 2021.

Survivors include his father, Kent Pilling, East Carbon; children, Lora Lynn (Kruger) Donald, Norfolk, VA; Heather Pilling, Helper; and Joshua (Jackie) Pilling, East Carbon; grandchildren, Kylie, Megan, Ryan, Colton, Brayan, and Jackson.

He enjoyed ranching and spending time with his grandchildren.
