Jake Leyba, age 83, passed away June 5, 2021 at his home. He was born April 14, 1938 in Canjilon, NM to Ramon and Susana Maestas Leyba.

He married Antonia Lovato on September 14, 1957. A devoted Christian, he attended Calvary Faith Church. He is a longtime resident of East Carbon City and retired member of the UMWA Kaiser Steel Local #9958. He took great pride in being one of the best certified welders in his company. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, camping, fishing and especially time with his family playing games or shooting pool.

Survived by his wife of 63 years, Antonia Leyba, East Carbon City; three sons and three daughters, Larry (Stacey) Leyba, Terry (Rebecca) Leyba, Lorraine Velasquez, Cathy (Paul) Martinez, Jake (Amanda) Leyba Jr., Jackie Clemons; siblings, Roman (Rebecca) Leyba, George (Josie) Leyba, Mary (Wilfred) Vigil, Virginia Leyba (sister-in-law); 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Susana Leyba; brother, Paul Leyba; youngest daughter, Tonie Leyba.

The family is especially grateful for the care our husband and father received by hospice.

Memorial service, Saturday, June 12, 2021, 2:00 p.m., Calvary Faith Pentecostal Church of God (600 Denver Ave. East Carbon, Utah 84520) where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
