Emery High School senior shortstop Taleigh Price has been named to the 3A Softball All-State First Team, it was announced Tuesday morning.

Price, a senior leader for the Lady Spartans, batted an outstanding .604 on the season, leading to a .667 on-base percentage. Adding to her offensive statistics Price also brought in 25 runs, while knocking six home runs and six doubles.

Joining 13 other girls on the All-State First Team, Price delivered one of the highest batting averages among the group.

Fellow senior Bralin Wilde was named to the All-State Second Team after putting together a consistent campaign at third base.

Wilde finished the season batting .392 with a .473 OBP. Hitting a team best 10 home runs, Wilde also accumulated five doubles in the batter’s box.

Madisyn Childs was the third member of the Emery softball team to receive All-State recognition as she was given an honorable mention. Playing both first base and pitcher, Childs was a constant contributor throughout the season.

The 3A-All State selections were voted on by the coaches throughout the classification. The Deseret News named Morgan’s August Cowan Player of the Year.
