Verla Cloward, age 84, passed away June 15, 2021 in her sleep while surrounded by her family. She was born February 4, 1937 in Portland, Oregon to Verl and Fawn Williams Haws. She married her soulmate, Doyl Lavar Cloward, on June 10, 1956 in Provo, Utah.
Verla was a loving and hardworking woman, magnificent gardener, and devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She grew up on a fruit farm and loved to play sports as a young woman. She and her husband Doyl lived on several farms throughout her life, and while she loved farming and horses, her greatest passion in life was taking care of others. After high school she received her LPN and was a nurse for over 20 years at the Carbon Hospital and Castleview Hospital. When she wasn’t working you could always find her spending time outdoors, whether it was at her cabin in Scofield reading a book, or at her house working in her garden. She loved spending time with her family camping, hunting, fishing, mountain climbing, playing horseshoes and playing cards. Verla also loved to travel and visit the temple, which she did at least once per month. Her contributions to the community and to the church along with her dedication and love for her family will never be forgotten.
