Georgia Jean Thayn Motte was born on the family farm in Wellington, Utah on a cold windy day on March 27, 1929.  She was the fifth child of eleven children born to George and Mary (Worley) Thayn.  She passed away June 24, 2021.

Mom was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints.

Mom loved growing up on the farm.  Grandpa George passed away when she was 10.  Mom missed him dearly the rest of her life.  After that life became difficult and she moved up to Ogden when she was 13.  She never went to school after the move.  Mom always felt inadequate because of this.  She worked and helped her sister Neva with her children.

Mom and dad met when she was about 13.  Dad always said that when he looked at her he saw mom when she was about 16 and mom would see dad in his military uniform.

Georgia and Ribail were married in Grand Junction, Colorado.  They had eight children, Richard (Flora), Castle Dale, James (Linda), Price, Eugene (Roselin), Price, Gary (Debra), Wellington, Rosemary, Price, George, Price, Leon, Price, Marie (Emmett), Wellington.  They have 25 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren with another one on the way.  Her sister, Lena Jones.

Preceded in death by her husband, Ribail; her parents; one child, one grandchild, and one great grandchild; siblings, Neva, Melton, William, Owen, James, Thelma, Reva, Robert and John.

Funeral service, Friday, July 2, 2021, 11:00 a.m., Price Stake Center.  Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home and Friday morning one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment, Wellington City Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
