Now that summer is in full swing so are the Price City’s Culture Connection summer concerts. Price City Councilman Layne Miler took time to speak over the telephone to discuss all the details for the month of July.

Kicking off the month of July will be Angie Murray and Friends taking the stage and they will be performing Show Tunes on Thursday, July 1 at 7:00 pm. Angie’s friends include Mary Peacock, Michell Broadhead, Ryan Murray, Ammon Sorensen, Joy Frandsen and Celeste Sorensen.

Next up on July 8 will be another local favorite, Terry Shaw. “Terry has lived here forever and I think he can play just about every instrument. I’ve watched him do a Culture Connection dressed as a vampire, with vampire personality and all that. I really think he can do anything. He’s always fun, he’s always professional, whatever he does. So I really don’t know what he’s going to do but I know it’s going to be good,” stated Miller. Terry has been a professional musician for over 50 years and also teaches guitar, bass, mandolin, fiddle, and banjo.

In the past the Sorenson Clan have performed indoors for Culture Connection during the fall/winter months, so officials are excited to get them to appear for this year’s summer concerts. “It’s a mom and several daughters. The thing I remember from their first performance is one of the daughters has been singer since she was little. Mom said she always knew where she was because she could hear her singing all around the neighborhood. So they’ve been doing this since they were little,” said Miller. This concert will take place on Thursday, July 15 at 7:00 pm at the Price City Peace Gardens.

The following week on Thursday, July 22 will feature Wildflower Moon. “Well, I can tell you that Wildflower Moon the members of the group have been playing for ever, I mean for years, and years, and years, they have individually played for some of the really well-known rock bands throughout history,” said Miller. Wildflower Moon, is a rocking band that covers an array of styles of music with each singing lead and adding layers of harmony. With original material as well as some of their favorite songs to cover, this group will not only please your ears, but also your eyes

Finishing out the month and kicking off the Price City International Days celebration is a crowd favorite, Shuffle. “I just love listening to them. You look at them and they look like they should be in high school, they’re young, young kids, but so talented, they can play anything. I like to say including Pink Floyd and how often do you find a group that can play Pink Floyd,” said Miller. The Opening Ceremonies for Price City International Days will begin at 6:00 pm and Shuffle will take the stage at 7:00 pm.
