The town of Cleveland is gearing up for another fun year of Cleveland Days on Thursday, July 22 through Saturday, July 24 and everyone in the Castle Country area are invited to attend.

The first day will be filled with several fun evening activities held at O’Ville Pioneer Park. “So, Thursday we are starting down at our Pioneer Village that is just east of town, where starting at 4:00 pm. Actually, the trap shoot is going to be out on the South Flat Road, at Sherrel Ward’s Farm and that is for ages 12 and older. At 6:00 pm we’re coming back into town, down at the old cabins, down there. There’s a free hot dog dinner, if you come to it, we would like people to bring salads, chips, desserts, beans, any kind of side dishes is welcome and that’s a free hot dog dinner. There will be live entertainment so bring your lawn chairs,” said Event Representative, Brydi Sharp. Also taking place that evening is a BB Shoot for children, Stick Horse Show-DEO and the night will end with a movie in the park at 9:00 pm.

Friday, July 23 is all about the kids and there are so many fun activities planned for the afternoon. “We are doing a Kid’s Day there’s games and prizes, there will be pizza, water bottles. The kids will be given a card that they go around to each station, and that is $2.00 to get the card and that will give them passes to all the games, all the prizes, a piece of pizza, or a couple pieces of pizza, until we run out and then a water bottle as well,” said Sharp. The kid’s activities will take place from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Then at 6:00 pm there will be the Potluck Lamb Fry at the Main Street Park. The cost is $5.00 per plate or $25.00 per immediate family with pot luck dish, there will be a slight increase in price if you do not bring a pot luck dish to share.

Saturday, July 24 is the big day that is full of family friendly events. The morning kicks off at 6:00 am with the 5K race. The cost to participate is $20.00 and for more information call (435) 749-0286. The kid’s parade will begin at 10:00 am followed by the grand parade scheduled to begin at 10:30 am. Officials are still looking for parade entries. “We’d love more floats and entries for our Grand Parade and our kid’s parade, either one. Melissa Allred is in charge of the parade; her number is (435) 749-2478, you can give her a call if you would like to register for our parade or be a part of it. We got a car show that going on right after the parade so a lot of those old cars that are registered for our car show will be in that parade as well,” stated Sharp. Following the parade, there will be vendors, races, games, free music and dancing. At dusk there will be fireworks show scheduled to take place for guests to enjoy. However, this part of the event is pending at the moment and more details will come as Cleveland Days approaches.
