After missing out on it last year, the International Days committee has come up with some new events and some old favorites. From a 5K run to the annual golf tournament there is sure to be excitement for all.

First up on Thursday evening is the 5K run that will start at the Price City Peace Gardens at 8 p.m.. This will be on an open road course so runners will have to watch out for vehicles as they navigate the course. If interested you will need to register at Carbon County Recreation’s website cost is just $20.

On Friday two events are scheduled and both are starting to get a great following in the area. First up, is a Cornhole tournament that is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at Washington Park. Registration is $50 for a two person team and the form must be filled out at Carbon Rec’s website, but hurry entry is available to the first 32 teams.

Pickleball is another sport that is becoming very popular in the area. Pickleball is a combination of ping-pong, tennis and badminton that is played with a paddle and a wiffle ball on a court that is smaller than a tennis court. If you are interested in playing in this free tournament you will need to go to Price Utah Pickleball’s Facebook page. The event is open to all abilities and is set to begin at 6 p.m..

On Saturday you will have your choice of two different golf tournaments and horseshoes.

At 8 a.m. on the campus of USU Eastern they will be holding a disc golf tournament. Disc golf has been around since the 1900’s but came to Price more recently when a course was installed on the University’s campus. This event is also open to all abilities and to register you must go to USU Eastern’s Facebook page. It is free to enter and they can only accommodate 100 entrants.

For the more traditional golfer the annual tournament at the Carbon Country Club Golf Course will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.. This event always fills up quickly and this year is no different as it is full at this time.

And wrapping up the fun on Saturday immediately following the Grand Parade registration for the Doubles Horseshoe competition will begin. Cost for this double elimination tournament is just $20 for a two person team and there will be a cash payout for the top three finishers. For information you can call 820-6636.
