The International Days Celebration inside Washington and Pioneer Park is the city’s biggest celebration of the year. The three-day event begins on Thursday, July 29 and runs through Saturday, July 31. Last year the event was not held due to the COVID pandemic so city officials are looking forward to hosting it this year for the community.
Things will begin on Thursday evening at 6:00 pm at the Price City Peace Garden where residents will gather for the Opening Ceremony. “The big opening of course is we talk about the Grand Marshall and Junior Grand Marshall and who they’re going to be and we give some awards. We use to do fireworks, not going to do fireworks this year but then we get into Culture Connection at 7:00 pm and it’s gong to be Shuffle,” said Price City Council Member Layne Miller. Folks can bring their chairs and blankets to enjoy the evening summer concert.
Then on Friday things kick off in the morning and it’s all about the kids. “The kid’s parade starts on Friday and it ends up at the park. Then there’s kids’ day and then the music starts in the afternoon and the vendors. Just as a note, all the music is going to be on the street on 4th North in between 3rd East and 2nd East, had to get that right in my head, that’s where all the music is going to be, so it’s going to open up the park for more vendors,” stated Miller. Also taking place on Friday is free swimming at the Desert Wave Pool which is being sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club. Plus, a cornhole and pickleball tournament will be held during the evening. The night closes out with live entertainment and a movie in the park.
Saturday will start off early with the Lions Club Breakfast in the park. “Lions Club Breakfast that starts about 7:00 am and then the parade starts, its going to be on Main Street. There are lots and lots of entries this far in advance so its going to be big,” said Miller. After the parade there will be vendors in the park, live entertainment, horseshoe tournament, car show and the night will close out with another movie in the park.
