The 2021-22 high school sports season is right around the corner and those that will run through the fall months are gearing up for action.

The first official contest for Carbon High School will take place on the golf course as the Dinos travel Wednesday, Aug. 4 to Cedar City. Region will then continue on Aug. 10 at Quirrh Hills, the homesite of this year’s 3A State Championship. The golf team will be led by second year head coach Robbie Etzel.

Football will open the season on Aug. 13 in a home contest against the Emery Spartans on KRPX 95.3 The Peak. Entering season two under head coach Phil Howa, the Dinos will play its first two games of the season at home. The first region game of the year will be Sept. 17 at home against Manti.

Girl’s soccer will open the season on Tuesday, Aug. 10 in Roosevelt against the Union Cougars. The final home game will take place Sept. 30 against Emery. The opening round of the State Championship Tournament is scheduled for October 9.

Girl’s tennis will begin their campaign at a pre-season tournament in Cache Valley on Thursday, Aug. 12. The first home meet will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 17 against Delta.. The season will continue throughout the month of September, with the State Tournament beginning on Friday, Oct. 1.

The cross country team will start the season on Aug. 14 at the Premier Invitational. A total of eight meets are scheduled before the Region Championship on Oct. 20 in Cedar City. The State Championship meet will follow Oct. 27.

The Volleyball season will begin on Aug. 14 with a trip to North Sanpete for a pre-season tournament. The first home game of the season is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 31 against Grand. Senior Night will be Oct. 19 against Emery.
