The United Way of Eastern Utah’s Day of Caring event is set to take place on Saturday, September 11. The Day of Caring event is one of the largest single day of volunteerism in Carbon County and projects include cleaning up yards or lots, garbage pickup on trails, painting at the parks and many more projects.

“The Day of Caring, Saturday, September 11 a community wide event joining volunteers from all across the area. Matching them with projects that need to be done, this is community cleanup, this is picking up trash, this is cleaning out gutters and some beautification projects – so it’s going to be a great day,” said Director, Megan Cummings This event is open to individuals, families, church groups, company employee groups, sports teams and other civic organizations.

Volunteers will meet up at Lin’s Fresh Market parking lot at 7:00 am for a free breakfast. “Thank you, Lin’s. Thank you, Dick Rich and Lin’s, yes. Kicking off at 7:00 am or 7:30 am in the Lin’s parking lot on Saturday, September 11 and Lin’s has been gracious enough to provide some breakfast treats for the volunteers. We’ll have a few announcements and then folks will go to their project sites and we’ll get all of that organized beforehand,” said Cummings. Volunteers are asked to please wear appropriate clothing and shoes, sunscreen, bring work gloves and tools to assist with some of the scheduled projects.

The Day of Caring event will run from 7:00 am till 12:00 pm and once the projects are completed volunteers will be meet at Washington Park for a free lunch provided again by Lin’s Fresh Market.
