The Price City Culture Connection is gearing up for another summer concert on Thursday, August 12 at 7:00 pm at the Price City Peace Garden. Price City Council Member, Layne Miller stopped by Castle Country Radio to discuss all the details.

Taking the stage this Thursday is local favorite, Straight Canyon Band. “They played for International Days and great audience, great reception. Those guys are the kind of band where you kind of just sit back, listen and relax,” stated Miller.  Straight Canyon Band is a country band composed of four local musicians. The band has been together for seven years and has played at multiple events in Carbon and Emery counties.

Folks that are unable to attend the outdoor concert can watch the live event on Price City’s Facebook page. “You can stay home and listen to it. Eat your dinner while you’re listening. We would hope that’s what people would do is go out, visit a local restaurant, maybe pick up some snacks, and go home, just sit and veg out, eat and listen,” said Miller. This is a great opportunity to be a part of the Culture Connection from the comfort of your own home.

On August 19, Culture Connection will move to Helper City to help them kick off the Helper Arts, Music and Film Festival. “You do Thursday night, listen to the band on Main Street, Culture Connection on Main Street and then the next two days you go back to Helper and you just have a good time for two straight days,” stated Miller. Taking the stage on this evening will be Memphis McCool. Memphis McCool is a modern take on soul and groove music highly influenced by the music that came from Memphis, Detroit, and Muscle Shoals.

The free Culture Connection concert series is an effort to bring the community together for some great entertainment. Spectators are reminded to bring their lawn chairs and blankets as they find a spot to sit and enjoy the music. Remember to invite family members, friends and neighbors out for an entertaining evening at the Price City Peace Gardens on August 12 and then again on August 19 at Helper’s Main Street Park.
