EAST CARBON- Anna Marie Krauss was born December 18, 1956 to Bert Gileno, Sr. and Ada Mae Gileno. After a long, courageous battle, Anna passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 23, 2021.

Anna married John Krauss and together they have four children, 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many “adopted” children.  They were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple, but later divorced.

Anna was loving, always opening her heart and home to many strays, both human and animal.  She was giving and charitable and would give you the shirt off her back, just like her mother.  It is a trait that runs in the family.

Anna loved her country and wasn’t afraid to share her views with others. A true Patriot. She loved her family, friends, scrapbooking, beads, rock hounding, rock painting, camping, fishing, refurbishing furniture, antiques and so much more!  She was an excellent cook, sharing her talent at the Pik ‘N Shovel family restaurant for many years.  Anna loved miniature tea sets and made miniature dollhouse furniture for years.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  One of her favorite callings in the church was being a Cub Scout Leader, making crafts, teaching survival and living skills to those boys.  She was crushed when she was released .  Her next favorite was being a compassionate service worker and being assigned to visit sisters in the care center.  She was so loving and cared deeply for each of them.

Survived by her sons, Bert (Dominique) Krauss, Johnny Krauss, Sr. (Aida); daughter, Judith Krauss; grandchildren, Little Johnny, Jasmine, Victoria, Dominick, Alixzander, Bradley, Kaiden, Anabella, Bert Jr., Gabriella, Calvin; great-grandchildren, Cody and Dustin; brothers, Bert (Lani) Gileno, Phillip Gileno; sisters, Sharron (Lyle) Albaugh, Martha (Bob) Andersen, Marie (Fred) Owens, Bert Jr. (Lani) Gileno, Dolores Burnsides; step-mom, Jennifer Gileno; brother-in-law, Rodney Burnsides; son-in-law, Paul Kokal; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her special friend Sherry; her feathered friend of 45 years, Houdini; her dog, Lucy; her cat, Harvey.

Preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Ada Gileno; daughter, Jeanette Krauss; son-in-law, Orlando LaFontaine; brother-in-law, Donald Medina.

Funeral service, Saturday, August 28, 2021, 2:00 p.m., East Carbon Ward building where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service.  Interment, East Carbon City Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
